Do You Really Know Who You Are?

Do you know who you really are?

"You know who you are!" But do you? If I were to ask you enough questions, you might surprise yourself with the answers. Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching international clients and, including my work with residents, I’ve been doing this for a decade. That’s a lot of conversations, a lot of insights, and a lot of personal growth. Through this extensive experience, here are three things I’ve learned about you:

1. Sometimes You Question Your Ability

It’s natural to have moments of doubt and to question your abilities. Everyone experiences this, even the most successful people.

Example: Consider Sarah, a client who was an accomplished architect but constantly doubted her designs' value. Through our coaching sessions, she learned to recognize and celebrate her achievements, boosting her confidence and performance.

Recognizing and addressing these doubts can help you move forward with greater assurance and purpose.

2. You Have a Lot More to Offer Than People See

Often, your true potential remains hidden beneath layers of self-doubt, fear, or simply the busyness of life. There’s so much more to you than meets the eye.

Example: John, a talented software developer, felt undervalued at his job. By identifying his unique skills and contributions, he was able to showcase his worth, leading to a promotion and a renewed sense of purpose.

Uncovering and demonstrating your hidden talents can unlock new opportunities and help you gain the recognition you deserve.

3. Fundamentally, Your Actions Speak to Your Deep-Rooted Values

Your actions, even the small, seemingly insignificant ones, reflect your deep-rooted values. These values guide your decisions and shape your life.

Example: Emily, a dedicated teacher, didn’t realize that her commitment to her students went beyond education—it was about nurturing growth and potential, a core value she held. By understanding this, she was able to align her career with her values more deeply, finding greater satisfaction and impact in her work.

Recognizing this connection can help you align your life more closely with what truly matters to you.

What Would Happen If...

  • You Focused on How Far You've Come, and Understood This Deeply? Reflecting on your journey and acknowledging your growth can be incredibly empowering. It builds confidence and provides a clear perspective on your capabilities.
  • Your Hidden Talents Came to the Surface, and You Showed More of Your Worth? Bringing your unseen abilities to light can transform your personal and professional life, opening doors you didn’t know existed.
  • You Could Express Your Values in One Sentence? Clarifying and articulating your values concisely helps you stay true to yourself, making decisions that align with your core beliefs.

My Goal: A World of Confident Individuals

My professional and personal goal is to create a world where people feel confident about who they are, even when facing new challenges. Clear values will help you find success and connect with like-minded people and organizations. By understanding and embracing your true self, you can navigate life’s challenges with confidence and purpose.
